Course Description:

This course will be offered by Centre for Continuing Education, constituent of Ganpat University. This course provides students with an opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control in contemporary healthcare practice. The Course includes overview about infection prevention and control practices, Hospital Acquired infection, the chain of infection, standard and transmission-based precautions, barriers and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), outbreak/exposure management and strategies for preventing the spread of infectious disease to healthcare workers and patients.

  • To recognize the professional responsibilities to monitor prevention and control practices and intervene as necessary to assure safety and compliance.
  • Recognize the importance of the correct application of reprocessing methods for assuring the safety and integrity of patient care equipment in preventing transmission of pathogens.
  • Identify resources for evaluation of health care workers infected with any diseases
  • Plan, implement, manage and evaluate infection prevention and control activities.
